Can we just take ONE minute to appreciate the song Breathe? It’s lyrically perfect. Don’t argue with me. It is PERFECT.

My most clear memory of this song is when I first started dating my ex, the one I almost married. We were sitting in his car. I crawled on top of him in his seat, kissed him and just laid there humming this song into his ear. It was playing in the car, and something about the moment felt so romantic. It was raining outside. He walked me to the door after and I knew I was in love with him.

I don’t miss him, but I think about that moment a lot. It’s interesting how on one of our first dates, I hummed those words sweetly into his ear and two years later, I was singing this song in my own car, alone, sobbing because I couldn’t imagine living my life without him.
