The Search

What am I searching for? There is a hunger to devour all knowledge. There is a craving to become more than I am. As I improve there is a soft contentment, yet it’s constantly washed out by the need to be even better. I am searching for some nameless entity to fill me up. So I can become satisfied. What am I searching for? I am often disappointed in myself. I’ve seen that I’ve been down more than I’ve been up. Picking myself up is a steep muddy hill. I keep sliding down. What am I searching for? Happiness is but a moment. Ignorance is bliss but results in no progress. Time slips from my grasp; it’s wasted. I panic and don’t know which way to go. I feel others pass me and crumple into myself. What am I searching for? All meanings blur into a “Why does any of it matter? Death is inevitable” Why do I keep trying so hard? Why does no one hear my voice? Where are the people similar to me? One question leads so an entire sea of inquisitiveness. For now I’ll try to accept being.

Tap dancing streets in routine you reflect, Parking spots shuffle Where you spent the night, I wonder if laying down from 9 to 5, in the gutter, Not giving up, but Soaking in, Is a parking violation; It’s so modern to want To be your wheels, To slide on till we hit the bumper, To fear a city’s death, Witness cars’ robbery, too; Let’s not cheer this time When our names hit the paper. Publicity! Attention! Success! at so young an age, but The meaning died with us.
