(lvl 4) Lesson 28-31 {final}
The last lessons of level 4!!!!!!! Congrats!!!! Lesson 28 is about to become [adjective], lesson 29 is about “to end up doing [verb]”, level 30 is another key sentence drill and level 31 is the level test!
Lesson 28
To say “to become [adjective]”, use verb아/어/여지다. Example:
예쁘다 = to be pretty
예쁘 + -어지다 = 예뻐지다 = to become pretty
To say “to become more [adjective]”, use 더 verb아/어/여지다 Example:
더 예뻐지다 = to become prettier
Lesson 29
To say “to end up doing [verb]”, use verb게 되다. Example:
하다 + -게 되다 = 하게 되다
[present tense] 하게 돼요.
[past tense] 하게 됐어요.
[future tense] 하게 될 거예요.
알다 + -게 되다 = 알게 되다
[present tense] 알게 돼요.
[past tense] 알게 됐어요.
[future tense] 알게 될 거예요.
-게 되다 has various usages:
When you do not want to do something, but you have to and you eventually end up doing it;
When you did not expect or intend to do something, but you ended up having to do it;
When you want to say that you (or someone else) will eventually do something in the future whether or not you (or he/she) want(s) to.
By using -게 될 거예요, you express confidence about what is going to happen in the future.
Lesson 30
And lastly, some key sentences you can change with your own vocab!
Key sentence (1) 열 명 초대했는데, 아무도 안 올 수도 있어요. = I have invited 10 people, but it is possible that no one will come.
Key sentence (2) 오늘은 어제보다 훨씬 따뜻한 것 같아요. = I think today is much warmer than yesterday.
Key sentence (3) 지금 카페에서 어제 산 책을 읽고 있어요. = Right now I am in a cafe, reading a book that I bought yesterday.
