A brief, personal rant about Ala Mhigans

Disclaimer: These are just my opinions.  Mine.  I do not expect everyone to agree with me.   I do not think you’re stupid|bad|whatever if you disagree with me.

Before SB, I liked Highlanders a lot.  They were the race I found most sexy in the game.  This morning I realized that that had completely changed; now when I see Highlanders, I get all frowny*. 

The Ananta beastman tribe quests helped me put my finger on exactly what had changed.

There is a bridge across the massive canyon in the Fringe. It is, per the quests, the only bridge the Ala Mhigans have. (There’s what looks like a natural landmass bridge way up north, but ICly it would not be a practical replacement for this one.)

Things the quests tell you:

This is the only bridge they have.

This is a necessary bridge.

The Ala Mhigans do not have money to build a new bridge.

And yet, because the Garleans had made this bridge, the Ala Mhigans want to blow it up.

Let’s repeat those facts:

This is the only bridge they have.

They need a bridge there.

They do not have money to make a new bridge.

And they want to blow it up.  Because it reminds them of the Garleans.  That is so stupid it physically pains me! You people want to HURT YOURSELVES.

So apparently mental can trump physical when it comes to me being attracted to people.

* Yes, I’m completely aware that you cannot and should not judge a whole group that way.   I’m speaking only about the initial, instinctive reaction you have to someone, when you look at someone and the lizard part of your brain judges “I’d do them” or not.
