हीमा दास ने 400 मीटर दौड़ में गोल्ड मेडल जीत कर रचा इतिहास

फिनलैंड में हुई आईएएएफ वर्ल्ड अंडर-20 ऐथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप में 18 साल की भारतीय रनर हिमा दास ने इतिहास रच दिया। उन्होंने महिलाओं के 400 मीटर फाइनल रेस में 51.46 सेकंड समय निकालते हुए टॉप पोजिशन हासिल कर गोल्ड मेडल जीता। वह ऐसा करने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला बनीं। हिमा पहली भारतीय ट्रैक ऐथलीट हैं जिन्होंने इस कॉम्पिटिशन के इतिहास में कोई मेडल जीता है।

Wayde van Niekerk won gold today in the men’s 400 meter race. He did in honor of his 74 year old coach, who he considers to be a grandmother to him, and his mother, who was a great runner but could not compete in international competition due to apartheid rules. But he didn’t just win for them. He SHATTERED the Olympic record. He became the first runner in Olympic history in the 400 to win in lane 8 (this lane is usually reserved for the slowest runner). And he won the first gold medal for South Africa at Rio!
