He lay on the curb with a drunken stupor and dazed eyes; a strand of red silk slowly drew from his curved lips. "What a pity!", he thought, for this night was far too wonderful to be taken away by sleep's cruel hand. He watched hurried feet and low murmurs pass from drooping eyes. He wondered where they all had to go, being in such a rush and all, but realizing he would never know their destination, he shrugged his shoulders and wished them a safe journey.

The moon grew hazy and glowed fervently, only to fall back into a deep focus and soft luminance. Again and again, his sight shifted from calm to calamity as delirium hung his world by her fingertips. He saw visions of hazy memories and wicked nightmares, but seeing as his time had passed, he tipped his hat and fell asleep.
