The Five Things Thing…

Well… this is an answer to the 5 things a person likes about themselves… As a rule I do not participate in these self-examination exercises, however, for novice-at-play, being a recent birthday girl, and she being the one who sent it to me, I will endeavor to give some clever answers accompanied with illustrating photos, because that is a clever thing to do… Nevertheless, I will not self-define what I like about myself because that is the type of psychiatric question that causes me to ruminate more than I wish; however, I think it is possible to deduce what I alike about myself by examining what I do… as they say, actions speak louder than words…

1. (Top Picture) Common with almost everyone who is reading this I love to be behind a camera… I will shoot just about anything, but love nature, landscapes and documenting the busy and interesting life of my remaining child at home, Parker… I like that I have willed myself to be credible at this craft/art without being overly self-serious…

2. (Second from Top) I challenge myself daily to stay active and fit… probably more than anything in this category, I love being a cyclist…

3. (Third from the Top) I am enthralled with guitars as an object d’art, as examples of great woodcraft, and as a platform for creativity… most of all, I love finger-style, African-American created country blues, the genre that kept guitars alive as an instrument for years after the piano drove it into disrepute… 

4. (Fourth from the Top) I am a reader… I would be bereft without a book close by… I read (well-written) mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, classic western literature, history, religious study/critique… you name it… (you may also surmise what I don’t like to do also in this image) :-(

5. (Bottom Picture) I can do the nerd stuff too… when I have the time, which the top four items limit, I will build a scale model like the 1/32 scale Skyraider… I have great reverence for those pilots who flew planes with propellers and could see their antagonist's faces… I love the glue, the paint, and the touches to add a sense of authenticity…regards, Mitch

3.   An appointment with my psychiatrist on Wednesday.
