5 Most Embarrassing Albums in my iTunes Library
Before you read this list please disregard any opinion you may have about music. Some people like these albums but I don't. I am an artist and I don't have time to care about that shit.
5. Fall Out Boy - "Infinity On High"
Not only did I buy this album but I really enjoyed it when I was in high school. That alone is enough to feel overwhelming guilt since Fall Out Boy were heralded as the Duran Duran of my generation. Their long-winded song-titles and angsty teen lyrics were the keystone of the band which has since either disintegrated or whatever. The lamest part about this is that I paid for it with my own money. I've acquired music for free from Grizzly Bear, A Tribe Called Quest, and Circa Survive but I've actually paid for Fall Out Boy's music and for that I am truly ashamed.
This is my least favorite Eminem album and it's an empty gesture towards the fans who loved his complex rhyming abilities. If anything, the album just pointed towards how he had aged from a young, snarky enigma to Fort Minor in a Jordan track-suit. This is unfit to be categorized next to The Marshall Mathers LP an The Slim Shady LP, both of which are basically perfect records. I also don't understand why he sounds vaguely Jamaican in every single song.
3. I Set My Friends On Fire - "You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter"
The funny thing about this album is that I opened the c.d. case and it was filled with an actual shit. My younger, naive self shrugged at the new musical format I had come across and jammed the poop directly into my c.d. drive. When it was recognized by my computer iTunes suggested that I shut down immediately but I powered on, playing the first track which sprayed diarrhea from my speakers, covering every square inch of my room.
2. Matchbook Romance - "Stories and Alibis"
Whiny, tear-core from my adolescence when I dyed my hair black and wore actual girl's jeans. This signifies a low point in both musical taste and personal image. I had actually forgotten this album existed and, now that I have deleted the files, I can let it go forever.
1. Lupe Fiasco - "Lasers"
Lupe manages to completely trade in any credibility he had as a socially conscious rapper for an absolute failure of an album. Basically he tries his hand at commercialized hip-hop and, instead of showcasing his ability to create memorable raps, he removes any trace of substance. Truly this album is terrible and I am angry that I own it.
