I remember that night with you In your friend's crowded car I was hugging you from behind the passenger seat And it felt like I had in my arms the whole world. With all their crazy chatter, I only listen to your voice and your laughter And in brief silence I feel your breath Like the entire universe depended on it I hold tighter on that big huggable you As if telling wherever life drive us through, Would be a happy place with you. Smoke in lungs, Beer in bellies, Loud music, Senseless banter, I thought I have left them in my younger years But they came back with you in the middle Yet you were the best part worth remembering And experiencing again. Your drunk or sober kisses in the street Stolen or forcasted, Your love bites on my shoulders Romantic squeezes on my thighs, Unwelcomed or anticipated, I learned to love them Together with your hidden tears, And your beautiful heart secretly drenched in pain. You know when I am mad The way I know when you are worried Sometimes we need no words For then our minds and hearts wanted the same thing. On your loneliest days I took courage to lift you with no thought of burden And when you had to work oceans away, I had to silence my fears to let your dreams fly Trusting the vision I read amidst all the confusion you had And all that you had to suffer to be there. I guess my prayers were not enough Or maybe I was not selfish enough to keep you here. But I know I love you more than I did with past romances Yet not enough to have you fight for it. No heartbreaks were easy or even, More so with people who still love each other. It hurts us but this distance ends at goodbye's and thank you's With no certainty of comebacks.
