@aquaticcaliginous
It was still early when he arrived back in the city, and he spent much of the day just wandering around. When it finally became evening, he made his way to his aunt’s home for dinner.
holy shit today is great
someone left an entire pan of cake batter, just sittin’ on the counter
fuck yeah snack time
Your birthday is this month?
ah
yeah okay no more taking those “put icyhot on your junk” requests
they arent fun
It was his birthday today.
It was also the day Custoa lost the closest thing she had to a sister. She wasn’t there with the family the day it happened, but her brother had called her with the bad news. It was the only time she could remember hearing him cry.
But Custoa also knew Audrey, and she firmly believed she would want her son to be happy on a day people are supposed to celebrate.
She made a modest birthday cake for the occasion, just a treat for her and Eridan to enjoy when he came over later today.
Birthday
It was really early. Mat wouldn’t be awake til lthe afternoon and he didn’t want to wake her so he snuck out alone and got on a train to Albany. He had to be very careful here, so not to be recognized. He kept his head low for the most part. He only would come here once a year.
On his birthday, though he refused to celebrate it.
The date held another, more haunting significance for him. It was also the day his mother died only hours after his birth. He only would come here once a year.
To visit his mother where she rests forever.
He knew his brother would be around later in the day and would more than likely bring their father so neither of them had to go alone. So Eridan came early in the morning before the rest of the world was awake.
He’d sit and tell her about all the things in his life. About Mat, his aunt, and how much he wish he’s known her.
She could roll the universe over twice for him and still see it worthless in comparison.
