Ciel de Paris :)
Since we are in the Montparnasse area, we decided to try out the restaurant that we heard offers great food and good view.
its around 15 minutes walk from our hotel, Atelier Montparnasse, until we reach this building, Tower Montparnasse.
Ciel de Paris - is at the 56th floor of Tower Montparnasse.
When you enter the building, just inform the guards that you'll be heading to Ciel de Paris and they will assist you on which elevator to use.
true enough, we were not dismay. this was our view while having dinner.
we were not able to get a better seat because we do not have any reservations. good thing - there was still a vacant seat for two, that is why the receptionists was able to accommodate us.
they have A la carte menu, but its much more expensive.
that is why we opted to order their 3-course set meal, with EURO68/person being the cheapest set.
from this set, you will choose your UN, DEUX and TROIS meals.
UN - is the first meal or the starter/appetizer.
i ordered - HOMARD, which is their famous Lobster Soup.
my husband chose - COEUR DE SAUMON FUME - which is salmon and vegetables.
DEUX - is a french word which mean two, is the main course.
here, i chose QUASI DE VEAU - loin of veal.
my husband chose DOS DE CABILLAUD - which is a cod fish.
TROIS - means three, is the dessert.
for our dessert, i chose LA COQUE SURPRISE - chocolate surprise.
my husband, MINESTRONE DE FRUITS FRAIS - fresh fruits/basil sorbet.
lets see how these orders would look like:
while waiting, we are enjoying these biscuits and basket of breads, which they have given to us.
as well as our view :)
then comes our UN meal.
this is my husband's food - COEUR DE SAUMON FUME.
its not that delicious, (in our opinion).
and here is my choice - HOMARD, which is their famous Lobster Soup.
i wouldn't be surprise if they say its famous, because its really sooo delicious. thumbs up! best soup we've ever tasted. :)
now here comes our DEUX meal or main course.
this is my husband's choice.
unfortunately, the fish didn't taste good again...(for us).
(he is just hoping he'll be satisfied with his dessert).
my food - it was delicious. thumbs up! :)
we both enjoyed this loin of veal.
now here comes our TROIS - or dessert.
my husband was looking for the fruits, and it was the small sliced ones, mixture of different fruits. (he was expecting bigger slices)
then, he tasted the sorbet.
yes, its basil - and its sour! he was just laughing. :)
on the other hand, my order? is a chocolate surprise.
this circular one is an edible chocolate.
i slowly sliced it....
and here is what i found inside... surprise! :)
its a chocolate mousse with crunchies on top.
that's why its called - chocolate surprise. :)
overall - the whole dinner was great.
the view was really amazing, as well as the ambiance and the food.
if you just want a drink or a place to chill, the left side of this restaurant is a bar. so you will definitely have a place as long as you make an early reservation.
note: they are always full. :)
