Rant #2323820
The fact that our society manages to ostracize anybody who doesn’t fit in with the standards of ‘religion’ is absolutely ridiculous. The very essence of our religion is mercy, tolerance and most importantly, patience. By ridiculing and forcing a girl to wear hijab, how do you expect her to love it? To enjoy it? In our society, it is like an automatic reaction to slut-shame and dehumanize a woman/girl because she doesn’t wear hijab, regardless of whether she dresses modestly or not. What’s even worse is that most of the people who do these things are other women! We are the ones who slut-shame, who bad-mouth these girls, who isolate them from their own religion with the backwards belief that by doing this, they will wear the hijab and become religious. I’m sorry, but I refuse to believe that isolating someone on that basis is a good idea. Because it’s not. Hijab is a personal choice, it can be a very difficult or easy decision to make, but it should be your own.
