#6856 5e Baron Bill In A Barrel (2021 - Cognac) (Canada) The second from the BIAB series of Barleywines from 5e sees their 10% gem thrown into cognac barrels, and obvi she’s a beaut. It pours a deep, opaque toffee colour with an off-white head and a toasty, boozy nose, the body is thick and decadent, it’s oaky and the liquor shines but it’s not particulary distinguishable as cognac, it’s bitter and hoppy, I’m getting some apricot and marmalade vibes, super creamy with a touch of vanilla, sweet and nutty notes, wrapping in a caramel, oaky finish.
