Today is the 10th or 11th day of Christmas depending upon the custom and we are in the midst of the caroling days (Koleda) in Czechia and other parts of the Slavic world.
For today’s activity I practiced sedm šálků (seven cups) divination.
Objects are placed under seven cups to forecast what you can expect in the coming year. A piece of coal means illness, a pacifier a baby, a handkerchief a long journey, a comb trouble or misfortune, a coin wealth, a ring wedding or love and bread is luck.
After closing your eyes, moving the mugs around and then choosing one, you discover what the following year has in store for you.
I didn’t have all of these items so I simply wrote them on paper and taped them to the inside of the cups.
Luckily I chose bread. 🥖
Now we wait and see. 😉
