Sissy Spacek plays GX Jupitter-Larsen “Secant” 7-inch Flexi (Helicopter)
Happy 40th anniversary to Queen’s News of The World. Thump-Thump-Clap!
Amusement is a double 7-inch reissue of Hüsker Dü’s first single (”Statues” b/w “Amusement”) paired with two more songs from the “Statues” session (“Writer’s Cramp” and “Let’s Go Die”) that Numero Group put out for Record Store Day in 2013. “Writer’s Cramp” is one of Dü’s great early unreleased (except on bootlegs etc.) power pop kickers they kind of abandoned once they reached their hardcore phase. Earlier this week, Numero Group announced they’re putting out a box set of pre-1983 Hüsker Dü, including a whole bunch of those early songs that never made it to a record, and I guess that was my main inspiration for actually opening and playing this thing 4+ years after purchase, as well as listening to some other Hüsker Dü stuff I really haven’t played in a good while.
