DEFINITION ⦂⠀A 16+ nichelink relationship/relationship dynamic where one is the dedicated "defender" and the other is their "defendant".
This may be considered a subtype of the protector+protected (Tumblr link), only with a "legal/lawful", or perhaps social aspect. Because of the legal context, I have decided this is best suited for more mature usage.
EXAMPLES ⦂⠀A "defendant" may be someone, possibly cluster B, with low empathy, or other similar conditions that affect socialising, that tends to be at the centre of social issues, where the "defender" comes in to help communicate what the defendant meant in a less aggressive, or controversial way.
A sort of combination of protector+protected and employer+employee, differing from bodyguard+higher class in that the "bodyguard" role often entails physical protection, meanwhile a "defender" is a verbal/social protection.
Roleplay, alter/system roles, interest in law, etc. that may lead to identification with these lawful terms in a relationship.
