Do you ever have that moment where you just remember that you’re an artist and you can just change things about your character’s designs and lore whenever you feel like it? Like if you’re starting to feel bored with your characters and their designs, you can just redesign them and play around with their lore, nothings stopping you from doing that.

Let me tell you when I had that revelation, it immediately changed how I viewed theses guys and I’ve never been happier with the results. So here’s the newest designs for the main cast of Seven Deadly Circus Gang, now in fun monster form

Do you ever have those moments where you’re drawing so much fanart or other unrelated art projects that you feel like you’ve abandoned your own stories?

Well that’s what happened to me after I did Inktober and I felt very guilty. But the good thing about doing a month-long art challenge is that you can apply what you’ve learned from doing said challenge and applying that to your own projects. So for your viewing pleasure, here’s a collection of both new and old sketches of character studies and redesigns of the main leads of Seven Deadly Circus Gang. It’s a project that up until now has mostly been behind the scenes in terms of reworking and rewriting some of the story, but it’s something that I’ve had since high school and have for the longest time have been one of the few projects that I’ve been working on for basically years at this point. I do have a projects tab on Tumblr that I desperately need to update but you can get the general idea of what it’s about from there.

I kinda forgot that I had planned on breaking up the monthly challenge posts with some unrelated art so that I doesn’t get to bogged down, so here’s some Seven Deadly Circus Gang concept art for compensation. When I was thinking about how James’s circus was going to look like, I wanted to give it the vibe of being made from scraps and have a cheap feel to it. I want to not only reflect the mismatch look and feel of the main cast, but also reflect that “cheapskate” attitude that James has. And finally, last and absolutely not least. When two Nephilim brothers decide to make a circus to prove that they aren’t completely screw-ups in tempting humans to sin, you better believe that they’re going to go out with a BANG! Coming to 2021: Seven Deadly Circus Gang Alright I wanted to end it with this one because this project is undoubtedly my “passion project” so to speak. It’s been with me alongside Beyond the Mortal Coil and it’s something that has gone through a lot of revisions since then.
