what i’m currently reading: My Advanced Stats textbook and a pile of Qualitative Research articles, as well my Crim Theory text to keep up with my students’ readings. And a whackload of Lie to Me Fanfic, because I am really really late to that show.

8 People I’d like to Know  Better*

Height: 5′9″

Hobbies: RP (obv), and video games in general. Be it Sims 3/4, or Spyro, or FFXIV, or Yoshi’s Crafted World. Also Pathfinder/tabletop gaming. Creative Writing. Reading. General, all-purpose nerd things, I guess?? :P

Favorite Color(s): Lime green. Like, BRIGHT neon green.

Favorite Book: As a kid, it was Call of the Wild. These days, it’s more a series, than one particular book: The Stormlight Archive. Here’s a link to a page about Way of Kings, the first book. I genuinely can’t recommend Brandon Sanderson ENOUGH. All his books are spectacular, and his characters believable. Not to mention the magic systems.

Last song:   HEYYEYAAEYAAAEYAEYAA (You know the one. I was feeling nostalgic, and laughing about an action figure that’s been made of this, now.)

Last Film: The Love Witch @miqo-vynnie Made me watch it, and it’s awful. I don’t recommend watching this trailer at work. Or around your family.

Inspiration for My Muse:  She was named after my main in GW2, Kesseir. But J’kesri was a totally different looking Miqo when I made her. While they share an ambitious nature, Jak is ultimately her own person. Other inspiration comes from Yakuza and Bosozoku. Bosozoku are a pretty unique part of Japanese culture, and it’s been a blast developing something similar in Eorzea.

Dream Job: Working with people or animals in a way that makes a difference in the world.

Inspiration for my URL: I couldn’t get a nifty URL with Jak in it, and my WoW one has her server as part of the name, so I just went with race, instead, for Jak...Miqojak! One insecurity: Like so many others, appearance. I struggle with it every single day; I am constantly aware of how I look, and my mood is affected by how I think I appear. I’m trying really, really hard though to learn to view my body the way it is and learn to love it for all it’s done for me. But it’s so hard when there is constant pressure and desires every day. I always wonder if I’m going to feel this way forever. 

Two fears: Losing my loved ones and bugs. HATE bugs. 

Three turn-ons: Being driven, friendly, and fun :)

Four life goals: Marry the love of my life, have a family with said love, feel fulfilled in my professional accomplishments, and spend my money on experiences rather than “things”. 

Five things I like: sunshine, hugs, spending time laughing with my loved ones, coffee, and kitties :)

Six weaknesses: shyness, shutting down when I’m upset, prioritizing things poorly, making phone calls, having a short temper, and eating too much sugar. 

Seven things I love: my family, Scott, my kitties Simba and Winston, watching the sunrise and set, looking at old photos and remembering fun times, going to sleep feeling accomplished, and giving and receiving love.

If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be: Great Britain, trying to track down some Tumblr friends

Where would you time travel to: I think I’d have to go with lunariagold on this one -- I love to study history, but I can’t think of any time I would want to travel to. As much as I bitch about when we are, I have to say I can do a lot more in the world now than I could at any other time in history.

Fictional character you would hang for a day with: Granny Weatherwax? Luna Lovejoy?

Something positive that happened to you today: sent off the last of my daughter’s college applications this morning at 1:30am -- whew! Glad to have that marathon over with.
