There's something about drinking milk out of a glass bottle that is at once both refreshing and fragile. Like the kind of thing you'd drink after a long hard day, rinsed off with a nice hot shower or a good soak in the bath. The oxymoronic solid fragility of the glass is hearty, yet ephemeral. This is the drink of a hero. A legend. A Link.
It might be the bottle talking but chocolate milk in this kind of container just tastes better. I think - but I can't be sure - it's got the traditional Hong Kong choco milk flavour. I feel I've had the immense privilege to have tasted quite a robust selection of chocolate milks at my tender age, all around the world. From my experience, because milk from different regions of the globe tastes different, so does the local chocolate milk. And I've had a *lot* of Hong Kong chocolate milk. Probably enough that, if asked to drink different vials of nondescript chocos, I could tell with 70% accuracy which one's from Hong Kong (and I can tell you with certainty Switzerland chocolate milk really has a distinct flavour). So and so, I think I have some little authority when I say this is it. This is what Hong Kong chocolate milk tastes like. Not surprising, considering Kowloon dairy is one of the oldest brands in Hong Kong, founded at the same year as vitasoy in 1940.
