The man that looks like John reaches behind him for something on the table, but actual John isn’t stupid. The gun is up and cocked before the man can make a move. 

The witch doesn’t seem fazed by the weapon in his face.

“I’m gonna need that kid of yours back, John.”

“Don’t think so. You can’t have him.” John does not lower the gun. In fact, he strides closer. Boldly, he places the muzzle against the look-a-like’s head. 

It’s at that moment the witch moves, faster than anything John’s ever seen. He feels a sudden sharp pain in his side. He stumbles and the gun goes off

Both men fall.
