Super nice day in kailua for a snatch training session. Just working on technique as always. After 8x2 of snatches, I went on to do 5x5 with snatch deadlifts the. Played with handstands. #liveku #kuperformance #teamku #fitdam #808strong #halemua #fitness #weightlifting #snatches

Took a walk with very adorable resistance weight. 2 miles, burned 307 calories!
What's up Doc? Today's harvest involved some interestingly shaped carrots.
Took a Christmas walk with my baby girl. Had to turn around because of a rain cloud coming our way but a least we got a mile's worth of exercise this morning.
There’s an app for that
If there were a support group for mobile app junkies, I’d be at every meeting - seated near the refreshment table. Mobile apps have been instrumental in my health journey. In previous efforts, I have lost 20-30 pounds by calorie counting with the MyFitnessPal app. However with the birth of my second daughter this year, my time has been stretched. I barely have enough time to finish a meal, let alone log its calories.
I want to set more health goals. Not necessarily looking for a New Year resolution per se, but rather healthy routines to fit into my everyday life.
If there’s one thing I am diligent about, it’s watering my plants/lawn. It’s one of my new responsibilities as a new homeowner that I accept with pride. So why not spend a few extra minutes in the yard to swing around my kettlebell?
I am currently trying out a new app called Endomondo, where I can save various customized workouts and even participate in fitness challenges with other users. What I love about it so far is how easy it is to log my activity. I tell the app which workout I’m doing, when I’m starting and when I’m done. It even offers to play music. After the workout is completed, it tells me how many calories I’ve burned, based on my weight, height and age.
What I also found interesting is that it measures my workout in time… not the number of reps. It’s just a gut feeling at this point but this approach to working out sounds like it will go along with my new practical methodology of setting goals.
