Can we talk about Just Like Starting Over (Stripped Down Mix, 2010)?
Everyone debates over whether JLSO is for Paul or Yoko. The big one is the "It's time to spread our WINGS and fly don't let ANOTHER DAY go by MY LOVE" lyrics but no one ever discusses the part in the Stripped Down Mix from 2010 where at the beginning John says "This one's for Gene and Eddie and Elvis....and Buddy!"
First of all, yes they're a bunch of the early rockers that J&P(&G) all talked repeatedly about loving.
But secondly!
Gene (Vincent)= Be-Bop-A-Lula = a fave John song he played often and played the day J&P met.
Eddie (Cochran) = Paul played Twenty Flight Rock as his audition for John's band.
Elvis = they both loved Elvis' looks an 🤨 amount, loved his music, also Paul kind of looked/s like him.
Buddy (Holly) = Loved his music, the whole John's Buddy Holly glasses thing, the fact that the name The Beatles is kind of after Buddy Holly and The Crickets, big inspiration for them.
AND that's not even to mention the whole take a trip alone together somewhere far far away thing!
And it's like...if you just WANT to argue that it's for Yoko, yes those are a bunch of John's favorite artists. But then what do you do with all this other information??
If you add 2 (3 Wings Song Titles) + 2 (Artists J&P specifically have a big past with) it most definitely = 4.
