So I decided to buy both 88 Love Life and 99 Love Your Mind, first time using the Gramedia app to buy books tbh. This was the result of an impulsive buying fit one Saturday morning, cuz i was thinking of going to Gramedia but instead made use of the app so i didnt have to go anywhere. Also cuz I love comparing copied works to the original works.

Went over the pages & found more of the similarities DindaPS didn’t mention on her Instastory. Found some of ‘em, and though they’re predominantly similar on the design & font, I found some similar quotes too. Now I don’t believe the quotes in 99 are plagiarized by any means but two or three of them just sounded like an indirect translation of some of 88′s quotes.

88: I will always forgive & move on. I have a big heart. 99: If you forgive someone, you own a big heart.

Both are useful quotes, asking us to question ourselves first before blaming others. Both in seafoam green bg.

Taken from Dinda Puspitasari (@dindaps)’s Instagram stories. She’s the illustrator and co-writer of the popular self-help book 88 Love Life, and just recently she found out about 99 Love Your Mind, another self-help book with cute illustrations & motivational quotes, which surprise, surprise, turns out to be a copy of her and Diana Rikasari’s book.

The author of 99 Love Your Mind, Aprilia Kartika Purnamasari, has since made her IG private, probably the 88LL fans got to her first & messaged her with hate, though maybe this isn’t the intention of the authors of 88LL; maybe they don’t want them to spark hate or a flame war.

The way I look at it, these two books might have different, but close, target markets. 88LL is for artsy millenials who probably hang around tumblr, and 99LYM is for artsy millenials but with a more religious nuance. The author also made religious comics called Bismillah Kartun Dakwah tho.

Many times we feel dissapointed, angry or sad because things didn't turn out the way we wish it would. And that happens because we expect too much. In life, things happen beyond what our brain can imagine. It is uncontrollable and can seem unbearable. But things will feel alright if we've prepared ourselves for anything that could happen. Because life isn't perfect, neither are we. So why expect things to run perfectly too? God has made the best plans for us, so just enjoy the ride no matter where it leads us to. People change so don't expect them to stay the same forever. Let us grow and become a better version of ourselves, with or without the support from people we wished we would always have. We lose and we gain people in our lives. Because maybe, there isn't enough space for too many people in our hearts. Expect life to be exciting, because it really is.
