Sometimes I forget to follow my own advice... 1.) It's not important to tell people who to worship but what's more important is they are thankful for whoever it is they believe in for what they have. 2.) Family is most important...especially your children and your spouse. They need your undying, unconditional love and dedication to put them in position to be the best they can be to go out and positively affect the world. 3.) Self analyzation will prevent us from making the same mistakes over and over. What should I change? What am I doing wrong? How can I fix it? Never take the "this just who I am" approach. We all have room for improvement. 4.) Integrity is mostly what society lacks these days. Ask yourself "would I want this done to me?" It's about doing the right thing even when you feel someone doesn't deserve it....even when a situation reveals you can take advantage...karma will return in the long run to get even. 5) appreciation takes you a long way. People go the extra mile when they know you've sincerely appreciated them...best way to continue the cycle though is to reciprocate it. You not only want to be blessed but also to be a blessing! 6.) it's a reason knowledge is hidden, info is guarded and truths are locked away! To KNOW....knowledge and to KNOW YOURSELF is the ultimate weapon! 7. From eating habits, to mental outlooks to staying physically fit is all apart of being able to put yourself in a better position to win! One should not ever want to self destruct because it's already enough obstacles to overcome without you being your own worst enemy. 8.) your principles define who you are as a man/woman....everything is based off your principles. They should be so solid that no one be able to violate or penetrate them to make you regress who you are and where you want to be. Last resort but also often times necessary, violation of your principles not only calls for you to protect yourself but also sometimes to go on the offensive and stop those who are trying to stop you! Le 8 regole di Neil Gaiman per la scrittura
8 regole di scrittura! I traslated in italian the 8 writing rules by @neilhimself on my blog!
Scrivi.

Guys On Dating Sites:
Guys who open with grammatical errors and a proposition for casual sex.
Guys who think they're funny but really, really aren't.
Guys whose messages are always fragmented and conclusive.
Guys whose messages are long and drawn out...rife with ellipses...and usually several typos that would make the message difficult to understand even if they were direct and concise...typically lacks clarity...just generally terribly sentence structure...like you're reading something Hemingway wrote...only way worse...because Hemingway was an author...and these guys aren't.
Guys who you really want to talk to and would probably really get along with if they ever responded to your message.
Guys who message you and then message you again shortly later to let you know that they think that you suck for not responding to their first message.
Guys that you actually know in the real world and are therefor really worried that they might try to talk to you.
Guys who hunt, fish, or farm. Especially if you're on POF. I'm not on POF any more, but I was for a time and seriously every guy whose profile I checked out was, like, wearing those massive woodsy boots and holding up a carcass of one sort or another.
Don't Use "I Think You're a Third Grader" Language
Adventures with Online Dating
Why am I doing this to myself again? Oh, right, because school's out, I haven't gotten around to finding a job, I'm running low on friends, and I have way too much time. Ah well, this opens up a whole new slew of Rules for Dating Me. And here's a big one:
There's this really popular thing where grown ass men use language to and about grown ass women that make those women out to be children.
Now, let me be blunt. There is nothing less appealing than you treating me like a child. I am not comfortable with men who want to turn women into girls.
I literally just got a message that said, and this is the whole thing verbatim, "So cutie do you feel like going out on a nice little date with me sometime?"
Seriously? Cutie? Nice little date? That's creepy as hell. And you know what's worse? He wasn't even the first guy to call me cutie today. Cutie. Like I'm a smaller-than-a-clementine baby orange. Or an eight year old.
And, look, I get that basically all of the hit songs refer to women as "girl" or "baby." But it's crazy creepy. And I'm not interested in any men who want to establish adult/child type power relations with women. Even if it's just through their discourse.
We'll talk about how put off I am by people who ask me on dates/to hang out/to hook up in the first message next time.
Schneiderman's 8 Golden Rules and the Killer Robot interface.
Strive for consistency.
Try to make it so the user knows what to do because they’ve seen the same situation before throughout your interface.
Enable frequent users to use shortcuts.
This is especially valid for users that use the interface on a regular basis. Somethings to consider might be, abbreviations, function keys, hidden commands and automated actions.
Offer informative feedback.
For every action that the user does, there should be some sort of feedback, either good or bad. For more frequent and minor actions the response can be minimal. For infrequent and major actions the feed back should be more substantial.
Walk user through more complicated tasks.
When you have an action that requires several steps, be sure to separate it into a logical beginning, middle and end. After each step be sure to give feedback that will clarify that the step was done correctly and they can move on to the next step. At the end of all the steps be sure to let the user know that they are completed and that they have finished all the requirements.
Offer simple error handling.
As much as possible, design the system so the user cannot make a serious error. If an error is made, the system should be able to detect the error and offer simple, comprehensible solution for handling the error.
Permit easy reversal of actions.
Give a way for the user to undo an error. This will help keep the user at ease if they know that not everything has to be perfect. This will encourage further exploration of your interface. You might want to place an undo feature when dealing with a single actions, a data entry or a complete group of actions.
Make the user feel in control.
Experienced users always want to feel like they are in control of the system. Make sure the design makes the user feel in control and not just responding to a situation.
Keep it simple
People have a limited short-term memory. Having to keep track of several things at once can leave a user frustrated or incapable of using your interface. Try and consolidate multiple pages, reduce unneeded motion, and generally just keep things simple. This will go a long way to help your user’s frustration level.
In the killer robot, the developers should've gave preliminary verifications about the UI and in handling the robot to the testers so that possible accident may be prevented. And safety protocols must be followed first by the testers so that if ever accident happens, at least they are properly protected to any equipments they have. Not only did the system allows numerous opportunities for error, but when an error actually occurred, it was something that was not likely to be repeated. From the part of the UI designer, he should've made the UI very informative for the product they are creating will be used in real time application and since it is a robot, it may also harm people due to its physical components.
