BvS does one of my favorite things and it breaks down the mask binary of the heroes. Like yes, Bruce has a rich man mask but it's facetious, it's surface level, one bump into snoopy Clark Kent and the mask falls off and you see the sharpness in his rage pinpointing at the man that just dared to question THE BATMAN by supporting an alien dressed like a clown. And you see that Clark Kent isn't even really wearing a mask either, or any affectation of some fake naivety, he is seeing the terror that THE BATMAN is doing as acting like some judge, jury, executioner and wants it to stop. If not by pen, by the heel of Superman's boot. And then there's Diana who is nothing but a mystery except she isn't, she's flesh and war, and it's all in the way she carries herself and tells some foolish rich boy from jersey that he's never met a woman like me that she doesn't even hesitate to leave the plane and go off to fight.
