Here's a throwback to October of last year. I had just finished hand sewing buttons, one by one, onto a sweatshirt. It was my way of spreading holiday cheer (you can never start too early, can you?).

I'm obsessed with process. Repeat, repeat: The slow forming of things fascinates me. Today, I choose to honor the infinite time it takes to be fully formed. There is no end to the process, only phases, sort of like the waxing and waning of many moons.

Talented hands craft things worth cozying up to. As a skillful fiber artist, Nathan Bryant knits and crochets colorful accessories like hats and fingerless gloves. His textural work comes to life in the vivid, crisp and thoughtful photographs he takes. And he offers patterns for many of his creative works – a godsend to fellow crafters.

This is me and my handmade rug. I started making it fours ago, and I’m still not done. There are reasons why, which I shared at length on Instagram, but I’m still proud of it. And I will finish it some day.

The goods in this photo, ranging from garlands to bracelets to necklaces, were all made by me and will be available for sale soon; they're another part of my multilayered entrepreneurial vision, and another visual expression of my peculiar, creative heart.
