On a scale of Victor Frankenstein to Annabelle McAllister, how much do you love the things you create?
It's such a shame the New Albion musicals aren't more well-known. Mainstream pop culture is missing out on some serious bops. Some absolute genius moments include:
Those hypnotic first 7 notes of New Albion 1.
That moment in Atompunk Overture where Mascot speaks "Era: Atompunk", and the beat just fucking drops.
Rachael's depressing asylum song, where the writer somehow portrays, using music alone, the feeling of being electrocuted.
The entirety of The Soiree, specifically the musical build-up to the moment where Constance displays her amazing vocal range and yells "Where you stand when the cards FAAAALLLLLL!" and the beat just fucking drops.
BLOOD. RED. DOGS. All of it. Specifically the beautiful execution of the mass-possession scene when it starts with all the soldiers singing the Blood Red Dogs leitmotif until each soldier falls out of the chorus one by one to start singing the possession leitmotif until none are left standing to sing their original song. THAT is some good shit.
Am I the only one on this hellsite wondering why the New Albion fandom is so small?
I need to stop this.
I drew some sketches of Jasper from The Dolls of New Albion, this is how I imagine him. His body is brass and his joints are copper. His heart is a human heart with mechanical enhancements. I based his design off a resin ball joint doll, he was a lot of fun to draw. I don’t think I’ll ever be over New Albion, it’s such an amazing and emotional experience. I could talk for hours about everything I liked about the trilogy but for now here’s some sketches of Jasper.
Alright bitches let me learn you a new thing. A man named Paul Shapera decided one day, “Let’s make a fuckin Steampunk Opera and make it interesting.” And he did. And made two sequels. And it is amazing. I mean fuck me the narrator in the sequel gets into an argument with the main character. Also STEAMPUNK. AND SUPER SOLDIERS. AND JASPER.
Svtfoe Spoilers:
"Kill the monsters! Kill the monsters!" everyone screamed.
"Now hold on! This isn't at all what I mean!"
But whatever Moon meant, no one cared or would hear. There was blood in their eyes and a riot was reared.
You know what's awesome about the New Albion universe? It caters to literally any type of fanfic writer and OC creator.
Seriously. No type or genre of OC is too extra, out of place, or outrageous for the NA universe.
You got a cyborg OC? The Cyberpunk Era is crawling with them, and making new enhancements every day!
You got a Fursona you don't know what to do with? The werewolf tribe of Lost Hollow would probably welcome them with open arms!
You got a talking animal? They can take down mobsters with Sam the Mouse, or sing with the cockroach a capella group!
You got a ghost possessing an artificial body? The Dolls of New Albion could use their sympathy and help!
You got a meta-physical fourth wall breaker? Lloyd and Raven could teach them a thing or two about their powers!
You got an inventor? A toymaker? A taxi driver? An alchemist? A super soldier? A mad doctor? A witch? A wraith? A warlock? A talking phoenix? An Eldritch abomination? The Steampunk, Dieselpunk, Atompunk, and Cyberpunk Eras are always looking for more!
No OC is too edgy, too horrific, to corny, too romantic, too unique, too adventurous, or too outrageous for this universe! All who come are welcome!
