A Suitable Boy, on good marriage
@radioactiveoreoshake has convinced me to listen to the whole album of a suitable boy. ngl the song titles themselves are so beautiful.

You can't blame her,' said Amit. 'After a life so full of tragedy anyone would become hard.''What tragedy?' asked Mrs. Chatterji.'Well, when she was four,' said Amit, 'her mother slapped her--it was quite traumatic--and then things went on in that vein. Vikram Seth, A Suitable Boy
Dubious by Vikram Seth
very niche but maan going to banaras only to wash his bloodied hands and confessing his crime. Something about banaras being the only place for truth
who is a suitable boy?
A Suitable Boy (2020)
Its 2024, and finally I am done with A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth after 3 months
And FUCK I AM OBSESSING over it!
The writings, the plot, the poetry and omg the characters.
And oh MAAN & FIROZ shut the fuck up I need to know what happened to them. I need to draw fanarts and write fanfics cause oh holy lord I am simping on these two 1950s bisexual idiots I can cry. The simplicity yet the poetry and fate that revolves around them, how every narrative comes to full circle, its so brilliant.
This book just gave me another perception of love and marriage through LATA! Her choosing the man finally made so much sense and apt. The backdrop of post independent India.. oof such a classic!!!
