Regulus was born to Orion and Walburga Black, the younger brother to Sirius. He had looked up to his older brother for the majority of his life until he was sorted into Gryffindor and disowned.
The younger Black did everything to please his family. He was sorted into Slytherin, became the Seeker on the Quidditch team and even became a member of the Slug club.
From a young age, Regulus had admired Lord Voldemort and became a Death Eater at 16, soon beginning to change his view and no longer wanted to serve as a Death Eater but the young wizard was scared to go against the Dark Lord but when the Blacks family Kreacher was used for Voldemort and nearly killed him, he knew he couldn't stay loyal to the dark wizard.
He found out the locket was a Horcrux and was the reason behind Voldemort Immortality. Creating a duplicate of the locket, he had Kreacher take him to where the real one was and replaced it with the fake, but doing so caused him to die. He had to drink a potion to get the real locket and tried to drink from the water around the island they were on, only to be dragged into the water by the Inferi.
