Nugu GG of the Week #664 : A-Fati (part 5)
Final track chosen for this group is actually an OST. Their one album does have 2 other songs which are fine, though one has some random man 🙄 I decided to add in their OST song to help diversify the songs showcased because sometimes OSTs pop off. The group did 2 songs for the show, The Best Future, which started Minah of Girl's Day! The song I chose is Fly, a nice upbeat pop rock track that feels VERY reminiscent of songs you'd hear in late 90s or early 2000s movies. Tell me this doesn't give you Michelle Branch or Liz Phair or some rock band that would lend a song to some movie in a montage scene or ending credits scene of the characters kissing in the rain or driving off into the sunset. I haven't seen this drama but I can only hope the song was used in scene like that because that's what I think of when I listen to this song.
Overall this girl band released only one album (6 tracks) and 2 OST songs bringing up their count to 8 streamable songs but they still have a loyal 100 monthly listeners on Spotify so 🫡 we thank these nugus for their service.
It would be really nice if these girl bands took off, it really sucks that there haven't been many girl bands in the mainstream music 😔

Next track is Requiem. This song is a huge stand out from their small discography. The song is slightly stripped down at parts and kinda serves as their "ballad" for their album. The song has a nice acoustic guitar, strings and a slight whimsical Irish flute (?) that gives the song a nice atmosphere. Imagine the scene, a group of warriors going out to battle a dragon in a old timey setting 🧐 do you see my vision. Also having watched an anime Frieren it definitely reminds me of that. While their album is half hard punk rock songs and the other half uplifting JRock sounding songs this shines as a nice standout.

Next song is I Gotta Run. The song starts out with some low energy building up and also has a nice synth piano melody. This song follows suit with the previous track in terms of having a nice uplifting tone and being a nice rock song that gives you energy to overcome anything.

Next song is Say The Word. The song starts out with this beautiful string section and then the rocking beat comes in. While they have a few songs that feel more punk this song has that anime ending JRock vibe. A rock song that has an uplifting tone to it.

Nugu GG of the Week #660 : A-Fati (part 1)
A-Fati is a 4 member girl band 🎸🥁 that debuted in 2014 and disbanded by 2016. The members were Moxi, Hyoi, Kim Witch, and Yen. The group was briefly Amor Fati and then rebranded as A-Fati.
Their debut single is Another Chance. The song is a solid rock track, definitely has the punk Avril Lavigne/Paramore energy. The lead vocalist is pretty solid as well, she sometimes adds a raspy growl on some her words. The group is pretty different than previous girl band 🎸🥁 NGGotW mentions like SUNNYKEY (y'all still streaming Sweet Hello?), Bebop (y'all still streaming I'm the Best?), Seoulmoon (y'all still streaming Coconut Love?) or Rosemary (y'all still streaming That's What They Say?). Fishingirls (y'all still streaming Tutorial?) are similarish, they actually have a well built discography granted as opposed to all these other ones who only put out one/two albums but they're kinda the closest in style from the ones I've mentioned
