who: Edgar + Amelia @miabonesx
where: Outside Amelia's home
Callous fingertips rubbed tiredly at his sore eyes. Sleep had been a distant companion as of late. A few stolen hours between restless hours at the Ministry and Order missions. Ever since everything went down at the Ministry && Moody was laid up, the workload had only grown heavier. As always, Edgar had simply filled the gaps without complaint. He eagerly took on as many missions as he could. Another mission. Another overnight watch. Another report to file before dawn. He sacrificed sleep, family time, even his own wellbeing if it meant someone else could make it home safely. He’d been a terrible brother these last few weeks. He still tried to have weekly dinners with his siblings, something that his parents had insisted on when they had been alive. But for the third week in a row, he had sent his apologies to his siblings ‘Work is keeping me late.’ He penned in his crisp, neat hand. He knew they wouldn’t question it, his brother was busy with his family && Amelia probably had a large pile of her own work. They would understand, especially with the latest reports from the daily prophet. In fairness, it wasn't entirely a lie. The full truth was that Edgar had spent the evening stationed on the outskirts of a small Muggle village rumoured to be the Death Eaters next target, wand in hand and eyes fixed on the darkness beyond the treeline. Thankfully, nothing had happened. The families tucked safely behind glowing windows would never know how close danger had come, &&Edgar intended to keep it that way. By the time he Apparated into London, the city had long since fallen quiet beneath curfew. It was eerie how quiet the wizarding London had become. He knew he should have gone straight home; every sensible part of his brain told him this was foolish, but instead, with a rush in his step, he found himself outside Amelia’s home. He told himself it was only to make sure she was safe. Maybe he just needed to see a familiar face. Maybe he just needed to see his sister. A Quick knock, hoping he hadn’t woken her. "Mila ? ...."
