A2 Homework: 5th Sep 15: Write out in prose a 200 hundred word piece on how SLT can explain the video above. i.e) How might it be vicariously reinforcing or punishing for the viewers of the video (Think muggers and “little Karate girls”  Use all of the key terms: attention, role models, retention (mental representation), production: imitation depends on self efficacy, motivation: outcome expectancy and vicarious rewards/punishments, direct experience.   Due 17th Sept on google classroom, write it in word for the minute and be ready to upload it to the assignment once I’ve finished moving the groups around from last year. A2; Here's the scan of the last four topics in aggression for your timed assessment that's second double lesson next week (beginning the 13th October just in case you wanted them electronically). To be done in your bluebook alongside your aggression research writeup.

A2: Aggression essay question planning booklet: The link above takes you to the the booklet for all of the possible essay questions in the aggression section of PSYA3. Use it for the upcoming timed assessment on the everything since and including neural/hormonal basis for aggression.  Keep a version of your plans electronically, I will ask to see these at some point to see how you are planning your essays during revision.

A2 ongoing homework:  Carry out a gender differences and aggression investigation. Find eight males and eight females (put your data together with others in the group to get at least 16!) The Buss aggression questionnaire is below and use the write-up format above to guide your write-up. Use the newstatssheet.xls on the shared area (or any Mann Whitney U online calculator) to work out the obtained value. Make sure you justify why you chose that test. You are assessed on each on these sections in PSYA4 so it's worth getting the details under each heading right now, as each of the pieces of research we write up this year will be written in this format.  Handed in in blue book when we do the next formal assessment on everything since and including neural/hormonal. So be careful with your consent and debrief with this. Stress their normal results and that their are limitations with the methodology. Don't use this on any males that have any kind of past-links to major aggression and obviously keep yourselves safe when carrying this out! Due date: Wk begginning 13th October

Use all of the key terms: attention, role models, retention (mental representation), production: imitation depends on self efficacy, motivation: outcome expectancy and vicarious rewards/punishments, direct experience.  Then write a mnemonic for the key terms in order, Angry (attention), ropey (rolemodels), etc…make it personal to you if possible. Finish your living graph and put in blue book too. All covered and nice and pretty. Due on date of first timed assessment.week beginning the 15th Sep. Any questions email me. A2: Watch some perfume adverts and be ready to create a Hovland/centrally processed version on the iPads next lesson. Ideas for how to get people to engage with the message (great smelling perfume!) will be useful.

AS and A2: All of the groups at some point in January were given these research methods tables to revisit, complete and use as a mix and match cutup game. Remember that simple research methods questions like these come up lots in PSYA1 and are the basis for many criticisms in PSYA4. They also aid your A02 in essays. This really is one of the best activities you can do to test and re-test yourself on basic RMs stuff.
