Several thousands of years ago human beings had the knowledge of alchemy. However at some point in the distant past a cataclysm occurred that set mankind back to the bronze age and wiped the knowledge of alchemy from history.

In the present Midoriya Hisashi is an archaeologist and comes across the ruins of Amestris. He sends his son copies of some of the runes and drawings he finds. Izuku soon learns how to read them and teaches himself alchemy. Using this new skill Izuku and his family register him with a quirk, Atomic Manipulation.

            What was she doing at the university? Maybe if her brother found out that she visited he would think it was because she was thinking about enrolling. Perhaps it would serve as an indication that she wanted to move on with her life, whatever that was supposed to mean. Move on. It didn’t make sense to her truth be told. Did that mean that she was supposed to forget? Was that what was expected of her now that it had been a year since her loss? She was just supposed to put it in the past and act like nothing happened? Move on meant nothing to her because she was living her life, but it was pretty much with all the thoughts of her father still there. She didn’t replace the time she would have spent with him with something for her, did not use the money she earned that would have gone to his treatment to do something with herself either. 

            So what was she doing at the university? A delivery. Her job. She didn’t know much about the students or what they did, but she did know that when they were studying, it wasn’t uncommon for them order food for the late night sessions. And that was precisely why she had the container in her hand, planning to go to the location that had been given to her so that she could complete this delivery and do the many others that were bound to come in that night. Walking fast, she looked at the stairs that would take her up the five flights she had to go while waiting for the elevator, contemplating just using them. Luckily the doors opened and she only politely dipped her head to the other that was inside before standing against the wall in the corner, the fifth floor button pressed.

            It traveled up, floor one, floor two, floor...it never reached floor three because all of a sudden it lurched to a stop. The lights began to flash before they turned off and some set of emergency lights turned on or something. And for a second she was confused as to what was happening, before of course she realized the misfortune of being trapped in an elevator had befallen her. Sooner or later it would be figured out and though she was in a rush, no good would come by making a fuss. It wasn’t like she could force the elevator to move by the force of her will, so she stood silently, pressing her back against the cold metal to wait it out.
