Not main tagging this because I get a little hatery (but feel free to reblog LOL), Here are my thoughts on the most common theories on what Ralsei is:

Red-horned headband: I mean. It's a classic, and I wouldn't be displeased if it turned out to be true, but i don't super see it. Also, this will make me sound stupid, but his horns are literally pink, not red. Ever think about that

Green crayon: Another classic. Remember how we used to run in Chapter 2 era theorizing. Also wouldn't be displeased, but i really don't see it. Feels too random, and not very meaningful for Ralsei. Also if a green crayon was a darkner it would not be a goat it'd be like a green guy with crayons for hands

Kris's childhood idealized self/"Monstersona": I don't hate this one, and could see it being true, and would be a fun way to continue the theme of how Kris is so focused on childhood nostalgia and a sort of return to the past, but I also don't see an incredible amount of evidence for it. Don't mind it, but I'm not very convinced, y'know?

A shadow/Kris's shadow: I feel like I saw this one talked about more in the Ch2 era, does anyone still follow this one? LOL, I don't hate this one at all, but also, again, don't find it incredibly compelling. It's alright, makes sense Thematically, but i have no real thoughts besides that!

"Pure darkness" with no Light World equivalent: I like this one, but you'd have to convince me on what exactly Pure darkness even is (something Depths related?), and also why, even if this is true, he's still so obviously Asriel shaped 😭. I kinda like it, it just has a few too many holes for me to be too invested in it!

No Light World equivalent, he is a Goner: Okay so cammiboiG's video (or however you spell his name) I think is pretty decent, and outlines this theory in a way I find pretty sensible, but still. I'm not convinced. I love the concept of Goners but also im not that confident that Goners will ever matter as much in the narrative to make a character as important as Ralsei be one. 😭 It's a little bit too "Gaster created Ralsei because Gaster is the cause of everything" but like. I don't know, maybe Gaster IS the cause of everything. How else does Ralsei know so much about the metanarrative and the Prophecy other than maybe Gaster things? I don't know. I just don't know

No LW equivalent, he is a Titan/Titan spawn/Titan something: There is almost no evidence for this and it kind of doesn't make sense but it DOES have hype and aura. So like. No probably not. Not really. But it's cool at least LOL

Kris's knife: I didn't know this was such a widespread idea these days. Um..... This is stupid. I'm sorry. I understand why this theory exists, what else does Kris always have on them but their knife? But then, if he's the knife, how does Ralsei continue existing in Castle Town when Kris isn't there like we Know he does? Also, be fucking serious. If a KNIFE was a darkner WHY WOULD IT BE A SENSITIVE SOFT GOAT??? WHY WOULD IT NOT BE LIKE. A KNIFE WITH LEGS 😭😭 I don't like this one. I think it's dumb. Sorry

Ralsei is Kris's projection or idea of Asriel: .......

.....I can't believe this one is real. I am sorry that I'm going to be mean, but this one is so bad. If Ralsei is some sort of embodiment of Kris's idea of Asriel or feelings toward Asriel, WHY DOES RALSEI GET FLUSTERED AND BASHFUL AT THEM ALL THE TIME????? HELLO????? NO??????? WHY DOES KRIS SPECIFICALLY POINT TO SUSIE ALL THE WAYS THAT RALSEI AND ASRIEL DON'T LOOK ALIKE AT ALL?????????? Also, yeah, We know that Kris was really attached to their brother and was the person they spent the most time with—SO IN THAT CASE. I JUST DON'T THINK THEY'D FUCKING SEE HIM AS A SENSITIVE SELF-WORTHLESS SOFTBOY WHO PROBABLY LITERALLY HAS A CRUSH ON THEM. Are we BEING FUCKING SERIOUS?????????????

....So um. Yeah i think that theory is really bad. Also bro if this is the theory you're subscribing to How does that explain literally everything about what Ralsei knows about the prophecy and the metanarrative 😭 Cause um. Well i just don't think Kris would think. Asriel. Knows that. Like. What.
