🌻 casually using a pet name and getting confused when I make a face or get flustered about it…. tilting their head just slightly, furrowing a brow, thinking of if there was anything they just said that could’ve upset me, but pausing when I repeat whatever name they used, when I elaborate on how I’m just not used to hearing them call me anything but my name. them going quiet until the moment has passed, only to keep slipping whatever phrase it is into passing conversation, saying it with such normalcy, like it’s only natural they call me something like that— the word gently yet insistently leaving them when they’re trying to usher me to bed, or hearing it hold the usual amount of softness they would say my name with to get my attention, them softly murmuring it when they try to wake me up in the morning…… i can imagine catching them smiling a little smugly to themselves when I stop responding with as much fluster and instead like it is just another name agsjdhsj
