This college bookstore was going to interview me for Assistant Manager but hired someone else before they even talked to me.

I’ve had numerous recurring dreams throughout my 26 years. A prominent one is about skipping gym class repeatedly until the end of a school year, and then I forget my gym clothes on the final gym makeup class. Which is weird because IRL I never skipped a single class of anything in the K-12 era of my life. Another recurring dream involves repeatedly not doing any assignments for a history class until the end of the year, and then I have to talk to the teacher about it. It’s always a particular teacher I had in 7th and 8th grade, who was one hella scary dude. This entire paragraph was irrelevant.
So hilariously my third most prominent and lasting recurring dream would have to be the “holy shit they made a continuation season of Digimon Adventure/Adventure 02 and it’s on TV RIGHT NOW and looooook at my babies they are legitimately on the screen again saying new things that they have never said before and this isn’t just a rerun I’ve seen approx 20 times!!!!” dream. I’m not even slightly kidding. Ever since I was 12 years old and Adventure 02 ended in the US, I’ve had this dream once or twice a year. I’ve been literally having a recurring dream where there’s a new Digimon Adventure season for almost 15 years. In the dream I’m on vacation at the beach, because I used to bring my Digimon VHS tapes with me on family vacations (recorded directly from Fox Kids) and use a portable TV/VCR to watch reruns of the Adventure and 02 English dub over and over. Anyway yeah so in the dream I’m always standing in a beach house when someone (a family member or friend or whoever was my current roommate that year IRL) walks over and says “You’re missing new Digimon episodes!!” Then I turn to the TV and see like Tai and Izzy talking animatedly while in a cave... or Ken high-fiving Davis while an aurora floats by in the sky... or like, one time I think Sora and Biyomon were smacking Tai in the head with her helmet IDK but it was Digimon so it didn’t matter. I usually cry hysterically in the dream, or I proceed to freak out that I didn’t press record on the VCR or something. Waking up happens soon after, and then I’m mostly sad because Digimon Adventure doesn’t actually have a new season coming out....
OH WAIT THAT’S RIGHT IT DOES
So last night I had the Digimon dream for the first time since last year when they released the first character concept art for Adventure tri. It must be because I recently started forcing my two best friends to watch the original dub, and my nostalgia hype has been off the charts. But my one particular best friend reminded me of the god damn Yamachi ship. A ship he sailed as a kid but I legit never got into until I was maybe 16 (I’m actually Koumi trash hahahhaha Koumi is OTP am i right?? *crickets loudly chirping*). Yes so the god damn Yamachi ship. I’m in the beach house. My best bros are chillin there with me apparently. I hear something that was probably “BRUH YOU’RE MISSING THE NEW DIGIMANS”. I slowly turn to the shitty TV/VCR combo... And Matt and Tai are just makin out on the god damn screen. All over it. Closeup animation and what I’m 100% sure was the spinning Digivolution background. I couldn’t hear music but it was probably something like “DIGIMONDIGITALMONSTERSDIGIMONARETHECHAMPIONSSSSSSSDIGIMON----.......”
I’m done here. As a wise mon once said, Bye Bye Digimon, Bye Bye.
