TFF Community & Fandom Event: Fancasts!

This is my first time doing a fan cast (so unlike some of my friends in this lovely community who are doing the movie if it were set in different decades, I decided to recast as if it were being made now). My recasting Ben and Tom took almost no time, but building out the rest took some thought. I think my last two cast picks could be better, but if I try to work on this more, it's going to be July before I'm done.

Ben Miller

We joke in the fandom that Benny is a golden retriever, and I started thinking about actors that I think could pull off that, but still feel like he's been through some shit. And because of We Own This City, I decided to go with David Corenswet, who, in interviews, seems like a golden retriever.

Frankie “Catfish” Morales

I was thinking about shows I'm watching right now and who from those casts I could see being in this movie, and Jacob Anderson just clicked in my head as "Catfish" and it helps that he was also on GOT.

Santiago “Pope” Garcia

Because it's very important to me that "Pope" is Hispanic and that we keep the Spanish in the movie, I started looking around at lists of up-and-coming Hispanic actors because I will admit this is a grey zone for me, and landed on Aaron Dominguez.

Also, I think these photos really sell that he can pull women.

Tom “Redfly” Davis

If I'm only casting one of my celebrity crushes in this movie, there is something about Jon Bernthal's work that feels right for Tom.

William “Ironhead” Miller

Look, I've headcanon all of these men as queer, so why not cast queer icon Matt Bomer as Will?

Yovanna

Going to be honest, I was scrolling my letter box most watched actor stats, trying to find someone for Will, when I saw Zoë Kravitz and thought, yeah, why not.

Lorea

Like with Pope, I felt it was important to have Lorea also be Hispanic, and I don't know why my brain was like the dad in Spy Kids, but Antonio Banderas seems like he would fit.
