Former Ministry, Prong Drummer Aaron Rossi Dies at 44

Aaron Rossi, the drummer who played with Ministry, Prong and other metal bands, has died at 44.

His death from a “sudden, severe” heart attack was in January, but not announced until March 6.

Known as the Shredder, the Beast and the Big Dog, Rossi “was a force with his own gravitational pull,” his family said.

“If you saw him on stage, you were blown away by his immense power, speed and agility – and if you were lucky enough to know him in person, you were equally taken by his kindness, humor and humility,” they said.

“Great drummer, great human being,” Ministry said of Rossi.

Prong frontman Tommy Victor said Rossi “was part of my inner sanctum of serious musical brothers - a great, funny guy and a great drummer and dad.”

In addition to Ministry (2008-2016) and Prong (’05-‘09 and ’18-’21) Rossi also played with John 5, Strife and the Faceless, who remembered him as “a truly kind-hearted, great human being.

“He will be missed.”
