what are abaellis's and abellis's shadow's orientations?
Abaellis is an asexual cis(?) man! Cis with a question mark bc he's never really looked into his gender and honestly doesn't care
Shadow has an unknown sexual and romantic preference but is genderfae!
How would your whumpers react if the apocalypse happened? Would they release whumpee, or would this just add more fuel to the flame?
Well it depends what kind of apocalypse! Like if it's end of the world and they're the last ones left, they'd likely keep them with exception of Abaellis, Azen, and Kira who would let their whumpees go!
if it's zombie apocalypse esc then it's different!
Tael would likely start to retrain Emil to be more focused on pet esc training to be almost like an attack/defense dog! Bebê would likely double down, letting it add more fuel to the flame! Abaellis and Shadow likely would turn the zombies into test subjects/whumpees! (I mean, Abaellis has created zombies and done research Maci, being an accidental whumper, would either let go whoever she's whumping or try to be more a caretaker to them! Key letting Kira go would be very reluctant, if the hells are safe then she'll probably bring them with her to the hells, but if not then she'd probably let them go! Valen would definitely keep Mylien! He'd rather kill Mylien than knowingly sending him off alone in a zombie apocalypse! He might double down even more knowing that Mylien's family is likely no longer an issue now!
Azradel doesn't have a specific whumpee so would probably let whoever he was whumping at the time go! And same with Azen!
King Alistair is not letting Thei go if he can help it even if it is an apocalypse, even in canon he only let Thei go bc he was near death and Thei managed to get physically pulled out of the monster Alistair created by a rescue team, so it wasn't a willing let go!
Death's hands would be full but likely wouldn't let go of Harmonia! It just means Harmonia would get neglected a bit but that's ok <3
Faust, like Alistair, would not want to let Dor go but given the situation, Dor might be able to actually escape!
Kira would likely feed their whumpee to the zombies at that point tbh jkghdjkfhgjkd

Lets go with my whumperee Abaellis!
CW: Unimportant character death, Sudden complete character change, Constant threat of death via suffocation
Abaellis is currently one of the known keepers of a Haunted Familiar but he hasn't always been that way!!
Abaellis used to be a HUGE mama's boy and worked as a scientist with dreams finding ways to help cure various illnesses or at least make them more tolerable or ways to make certain cures more cheap to make without sacrificing quality!
One day he was presented with an unknown blank goopy substance to figure out what it was after it was found in the lungs of someone who suffocated from seemingly nothing.
He worked on it in multiple work shifts with no outright results until one day it started to bubble and suddenly exploded, soaking through any safety equipment Abaellis was wearing. His gloves, mask, and eye protection were practically useless as even after removing them in an attempt to remove the substance, the substance was already under them!
Abaellis was given paid time off despite feeling fine after a couple of days. But a couple of days later, he reported a change in eye color and breathing difficulty! Then came the behavior and morality changes :)
Being a mama's boy? Not any more, he could care less what she thinks now. In fact, the thought of doing her proud enrages him.
Wanting to help cure illnesses or make them more tolerable?? Not anymore! Now he wants to make new viruses and illnesses as well as doing unnecessary experiments any time he was curious about something.
When he returned to work, coworkers reported complete eye color change along with his iris taking over his sclera and new pink freckles. It wouldn't take long until he was fired for purposefully tampering with work and endangering others!
That was the last he was seen by his coworkers and his mother as he went off the grid to start his own lab to perform experiments in!
Now why did he seem to completely change? It's because the substance he was working on as an infectious Haunted Familiar! The moment Shadow made contact with his skin, she seeped through his skin and slowly made her way into his lungs where she essentially took him over and warped him to better suit her as a host!
She's basically in complete control of him as he is a human so she can kill him via suffocation at any moment, as long as he's able to breathe, if she felt he was no longer suitable for her :)
Abaellis isn't completely cut off from society though! Even before meeting Bebê and working for them (involuntarily at first), Abaellis had a volunteer job as being a comforter and providing a listening ear to grieving friends and family at funerals! Though there was an ulterior motive as he was finding out information about the deceased for when he'd later dig them up to reanimate them to experiment on them :)
Eventually Bebê shows up at his lab and they start working together but that's Abaellis's back story!

What are some character connections you don't talk a lot about but think a lot about?
The main one I've been thinking a lot about rn is Abaellis and Crowbar/Eli! Abaellis is the one that reanimated Eli's corpse into a zombie, who later renames himself to Crowbar due to not remembering much but knowing he's proficient with using a crowbar!
Another one is Death and Zolmoth! Zolmoth is a malware demon that's technically supposed to be in purgatory but vibes in Azen's hell. Zap underplays zapzself a lot around Death, leading to her underestimating zapz! This leads to zapz being able to get away with a lot more right under Death's nose!
Seth and Azen!! They're really close friends and have an almost sibling esc relationship! However due to their jobs they don't get to interact with each other in person very often :(
And also Darius and the Ladies Lucks! They have a very unclear but romantic relationship! I just love the fact that the Ladies Lucks, who stand at 8'2, looked at this 5'6 angel and went "Yes, that one, we want that one in our heaven." and now they're in some kind of relationship! Good for him!!
Suppose hypothetically you had two whumper's trying to Whumper each other. Who would it be and how would it go?

Bebê met Abaellis directly after being teleported into the universe of Insidium, they and Alure knew nothing about the world they were teleported to.
Abaellis was in the middle was trying to create new viruses when Bebê knocked on his isolated lab's door.
Someone who came from a different world with a whole different kind of magic , no knowledge of what's right or wrong in this world (not that they would care) , and a better immune system than most people in this world was the perfect test subject for trying to create a deadly disease/virus.
Bebê let Abaellis test on them as it didn't really bother them, at most they'd get a cold or minor side effects. While off on the side lines, they were learning about what magic of theirs still worked and what didn't work.
Before Abaellis's research could get bloodied (i.e. vivisection), Bebê learned what they needed and decided to just go "No <3 your turn <3".
Cue a nearly destroyed lab and Abaellis's Shadow having to get involved! Bebê was in awe when they saw her and gave her the attention she's wanted but never got from Abaellis (he's usually very dismissive and annoyed by her).
Eventually Bebê would have a castle esc mansion built with Abaellis's lab attached to it because they came to an agreement, They can provide unfortunate subjects to each other and Bebê will fund and provide what equipment Abaellis would need. Abaellis's Shadow likes Bebê too much to let Abaellis actually hurt them. However Bebê would still let him draw blood from them periodically as they acknowledge they're an anomaly
Abaellis was in a spot where he could refuse that as he couldn't afford a whole new lab and equipment and he also couldn't afford to lose this anomaly of a person. So he agreed and as a result he became Bebê's personal scientist!
The general theme would follow the same for most of my whumpers! Attempt to whump each other, figure out which is the strongest, come to a mutually beneficial agreement that favors one more than the other, find a whumpee and whump them together or go about their separate ways!
