Hellboy characters reaction to making their s/o upset after an argument
Hellboy
Hellboy has a temper. If you’re yelling at him he will quickly get very mad whether he’s in the right or wrong. Sadly his temper is what escalates most arguments
Usually it takes him a couple of hours to calm down during this time he’s most likely to snap at you if you try to make contact with him
It’s positively terrifying when he starts arguing he looks ready to kill and he comes out with all sorts of offence he doesn’t mean in the heat of it all. You usually slink off into a corner and try not to cry as the verbal assault carries on
Afterwards though he feels awful about how he acted and vows to try his hardest not to do it again. He’ll talk to liz or Abe on how to make it up to you but he really does pray that you won’t ever leave him, he loves you more than he’d admit
When he sees the tear tracks on your face and the mess in your room he feels his heart break a little and immediately takes you into his arms whispering I’m sorry into your hair
Too tired to speak you nuzzle deeper into his chest and just sleep. Even if you forgive him expect a few gifts or notes the next morning, the whole thing often resolves in a few days
Abe
It is quite difficult to get mad at Abe mostly because he always apologises when he’s done something that he knows has upset you however some incidences slip through the gaps and don’t get resolved
You can get very angry sometimes screaming and crying at Abe which does worry him a lot also why he doesn’t really argue back
It normally takes an hour or so to calm down if it’s a full on fight, he’ll swim around his tank thinking about how to make it up to you and where he should have been calmer and not risen his voice. This boy worries an awful lot
It does get scary when Abe gets mad because it happened so rarely, almost never, but the look of fear and pain in your eyes is enough to snap him out of it
You don’t really cry, just sit there looking blank half the time you don’t even notice he walked in until he takes your hand in his and reads your emotions. He’s horrified at how much he hurt you and will start panicking he loves you more than words can say, your pain is his pain
He’ll clutch you tight throughout the night not sleeping at all. Most is forgiven in the morning when he gets up to make you breakfast pressing a kiss to your head. A lazy day in bed is in order
Nuada
Like Hellboy, Nuada will flare up very quickly though instead of yelling he’ll usually say one crushing thing to make you quiet and then he’ll ignore you. It’s fairly difficult to stay mad at Nuada because below his cold exterior is a very soft heart
It can take anywhere from two days to a little over a week for him to fully calm down. He’ll ignore any contact with you refusing to look at you
You are absolutely crushed all you can think about is the thing he said. Nuala talks to you saying he didn’t mean it but you can’t stop thinking that maybe he did
Nuada feels dreadful he can see through his sister how you are and it’s never great, he definitely over works himself by training to distract himself. You on the other hand do nothing barely getting by without Nuada
When he finally sees you crying and looking ultimately defeated he just doesn’t have it in him anymore
He drops whatever he is doing and just sits down alone with you occasionally saying sweet nothings into your ear later to deny it ever happened. Over the next week he’ll pay a lot of attention to you
