Still enjoying a little “me time” on the island. (Not to worry, I checked in with Aubrey back home and the children are their perfect little selves!) I really like my gay best friend / personal Pilates trainer Alain, he’s a gay but not too gay. He always knows how to make me laugh when I’ve had a less than perfect morning whenever Tiara does or says something to make me rethink our friendship. Alain always compliments me on my goregous hair and how I always keep a perfect figure—Mother always said an Hermès belt should never cinch a waist, rather come to rest gently on one’s hip bones. But sometimes I wonder if I’m his best friend. Alain often mentions other women when he tells me about his life. “She” this and “her” that. Whenever I ask him who these other women are, he rolls his eyes and says, “Oh, Mary.” But I don’t know any women named Mary. He spends an inordinate amount of time with this Mary, which is odd because I prefer having Alain by my side whenever possible. I’m not one of those self-conscious women, but I just wish I knew who this Mary woman is.
