How do you feel about the Hobby Lobby case? Will you continue (if you did before) shopping there if the Court rules in their favor? I'm not trying to be imposing on your views, I'm just curious of how other crafters feel about the issue.
Sorry that I'm getting this after the decision was announced, but I was sleeping, and yeah. Sleep is good.
As for my shopping habits, I didn't shop at Hobby Lobby before. There were are number of factors that went into that decision, some political (such as their donation history), some consumer related (I don't know about any other Hobby Lobby's, but the two that I've been to would do worse than fine print slap you on sales and would never mark anything properly, then refuse to sell items to you at the price they were marked for), and some distance related (I didn't have a Hobby Lobby for the longest time, and then when I did, it was still far away).
As for my feelings about the case, I don't think that it makes any sense for corporations to be considered as individuals, nor do I think that as they have been ruled to be "persons" should their decisions be considered more important, more right, or more capable of making decisions for other persons than those other persons, who are, you know, actual people.
Also, art is inherently political, so I'm expecting lots of awesome political statements to come out of the decision.
