My biggest hurdle with songs TBQH is that I'm like "why are there no songs about women yearning for men" and yet, the issue is not that these songs don't exist, but that I am more attracted to masculine voices and therefore, generally listen to music where men are the lead singers 🤣🤣🤣😭😭
THIS IS NOT TO SAY that I don't listen to songs by female artists, I do!!! But 9/10 times those songs are like, badass bitch, femme fatale, "I don't need no man!!!" energy 😂😂😂 (just listen to Abiteth's playlist, it's literally so many songs either about how she knows she's hot, how dangerous she is, or largely female empowering).
WHICH IS GREAT. UNTIL I NEED TO FIND ROMANCE SONGS. AND THEN IT'S LIKE FOR EVERYONE ONE (1) SONG I FIND THAT'S A WOMAN TO A MAN, THERE'S TEN (10) SONGS FOR A MAN TO A WOMAN. AND WORSE (... BETTER?? FINE???) MOST OF THE WOMAN TO MAN SONGS ARE SEXY/SEXUAL (okay this isn't a bad thing LMAO it's merely a trend that I'm pointing out - THIS IS ALSO LARGELY THE CASE FOR MY MAN TO WOMAN SONGS TOO, but I've noticed I have so many more "meaningful" or "yearning" or "love" songs to women from men, and not many "meaningful/yearning/love" songs from women to men. YOU KNOW??)
THIS IS MY GREATEST STRUGGLE (what a bizarre problem to have HAHAHA). ALSO what does not help me is that half the time I'm like "the SOUND of this song is VERY MUCH this ship" then I listen to the lyrics and I'm like "these lyrics are very much NOT this ship" so I stand there like prehistoric Spongebob confused over what to do 😂😂
Anyway again this is a silly little problem I have, and I AM ACTIVELY looking into various other playlists of love songs that have songs outside of what I would come across naturally in order to find all the songs I apparently think I need!!! (It's difficult because sometimes I do NOT like how the song sounds, but the LYRICS??? CHEF'S KISS, "I Get a Little Starstruck" is a GREAT example, I do not like how the verses sound - the chorus is lovely!!! - BUT THE LYRICS?!?!? I HAVE NEVER HEARD LYRICS THAT WERE MORE EXCRUTIATINGLY ABITETH THINKING ABOUT DANTE!!!!)
Stupid things like this are why I have this blog 😂 Literally who cares about my bemoaning as I struggle to find appropriate songs for my ships because I don't like listening to songs I'm not "attracted" to LMAAAAAAAAOOOO!!!!!
