Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind is finally out, and I want to take a moment to explain how much this series means to me as a whole.
I grew up with Kingdom Hearts. It was one of the first video game series that I felt myself connecting with on an emotional level, and found myself wanting to live in that universe and relating to the characters. It holds a lot of importance in my life.
Sora was a friend I needed after returning home from a school where I was bullied frequently, all because I was quiet and shy and a little different. Sora, Riku, and Kairi were the kind of friends I wished I had growing up.
I remember relating so much to Riku as a character, to the point where he was admittedly one of my first video game crushes growing up. And I still relate to him on some level. I feel protective over the friends I do have, and wanting to do whatever I can to help them be happy. But I also struggle with my own darkness, my own insecurities often enough and I’m still learning how to better accept them.
I often feel like I’m always that friend who is over looked. Which isn’t a bad thing, but because I can be so quiet I often feel like I am missing out on something. Or that everyone else around me forgets that I exists until I decide to show up. It’s not uncommon for me to end up feeling jealous, and then I feel end up feeling so much guilt for being jealous of others. I feel jealous and hide away, only to end up feeling resentment for feeling ignored and forgotten.
I know that I am battling a darkness everyday. I’m slowly learning how to accept and brace it, while striving to continue learning how to be my best self. I want to learn how to be a good person, someone who people can depend on but also look at and always tell me that they enjoy having me around.
Playing through all the games helped me so much while growing up. I want to say on a similar level as reading through Harry Potter did, but sometimes I wonder if Kingdom Hearts helped me so much more. If only because of all of its messages of friendship and overcoming darkness. And just it hit me so hard.
And I love all the characters so, so much.
I really wish I had more friends who I could talk to about this series. I talk to so many people who love Harry Potter, but somehow I always end up feeling like I’m the only one who grew up loving Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy.
And just growing up with those games, and looking back I realize how crucial they were to helping me get through the loneliest days in my life.
“My friends are my power.” is such a resonating line, one that will forever make me smile whenever I hear it or even say it.
Kingdom Hearts helped smol me realize that the darkness can be defeated. I haven’t beat my own yet, but replaying through the games never fails to remind me that as long as I keep fighting then I will.
Thank you Kingdom Hearts <333 I’m so happy to have had such an amazing series in my life, and to have pretty much grown up with it.
Even if my words don’t make sense cause I’m writing this at 2:00 am instead of sleeping, I just wanted to show my appreciation for a great series. And to talk about how much the series as a whole means to me.

- She hasn’t broken her legs before, but she HAS sprained her ankle a few times. It’s bound to happen when you run as much as she does
- SHE’S BROKEN HER ARM ONCE BEFORE THOUGH it was in a crash during a car chase. It was way back at the start of her career though, it’s fully healed now. It was a fracture on her left forearm. Plus, the criminal didn’t get away in the end, and they prooobably got an extra charge or two for ramming her off the road in the first place.
