So, I’m nearing the end of the merman Derek webcomic and was thinking about printing it. I’ve got scrubbed copies of past issues online that haven’t been super successful, and very few prints done of the non-scrubbed ones on request in the past. It’s generally not something folks seem interested in and, uh, unfortunately don’t think I have the reach to make it worth an attempt to do a Kickstarter for the full 150+ page print.

So I’ll probably just be making one for myself, and whoever on Patreon wants one. I’ll post the final bits here once it’s done (patreon first, of course) and then get a single copy to test it out and feel all fancy with. If there is anyone interested, just let me know! I can make a note to come check in with you when it’s print time. If not, no worries! And thank you for reading along with my silly story lol ♥️

I missed Talk to Me Tuesday (sad).

Awhile ago, I was watching some YouTube videos regarding the show. One creator said of Daeron and dreams, “a man can drown in a current or learn to flow with it.” This resonated with me because Daeron is drowning in it (wine).

Halaena, in the show, doesn’t flow with it perfectly, but she does not allow it to consume her entirely. It does still very noticeably affect her.

It makes me wonder how it was for Daenys.

Daeron is. He completely is, and to me it makes me wonder what if someone had managed to throw him a life line or caught him before he fell in too deep? Or at the bare minimum had others around him they might be able to help him in ways he needed (not being forced into an image of the perfect warrior son).

So the show did that, which was a nice touch, then it got weird and I just stopped watching after barely making it halfway through season 2 episode one. I’m Team Everyone Did Shitty Things And Morally Gray except Helaena, she’s perfect, ok? Also they could’ve done so much more if they went that route but… no.

Daenys clearly was listened to and went with the flow, if we go with what little we know from canon.

Problem is there is really no one teaching Daeron so he does drown (looking at you Bloodraven).
