what if the city with the brightest lights was Sydney australia after all. what if the carousel spinning around that is your life took you back to your home city. after all where else is the sunrise burning for days? huh? what then?

It would be so helpful to me if you could give the quick and dirty version of the "business ventures" of each crew? Specifically what they specialize in, which part of the map they control, and who is trying to ascertain control over what (like if there is competition between crews for certain commodities/services) If you already have a post that details all of this, please just point me in the right direction!

For the three crews I have right now, there isn’t much overlap (and I’m still working on the list of crew mates for all three but that’s coming eventually)

Pirate Queen Meredith

Quartermaster: Saoirse

Ship: The Jagged Ruby

Territory: The Salty Seas from Vesuvia/Zadith to south of Nevivon, right before it meets the Frozen Sea

Crew: About 60-75 members

Specialties: Tolling any and all rich countries/cities ships, targets mostly supply ships, but anything bigger than a cartel is going to get searched at least

If Meredith has targeted you or your ship, you will need to pay a toll to pass safely, unless she is looking for something specific, in which case she won’t be leaving until she has it

Captain Rodrigo

Quartermaster: Jacqui

Ship: El Corazon Sangrante or Bleeding Heart

Territory: Sea of Persephia on the west of the Great Gate, until it meets the Frozen Sea

Crew: About 30-40 members

Specialities: Raids, especially under the cover of night, targets all ships bigger than cartels

If Rodrigo has targeted you or your ship, he will try to take everything—you can sway him with a bet, but he will cheat

Captain Sydney

Quartermaster: Hideko

Ship: Inuwashi (イヌワシ | 犬鷲) or Golden Eagle

Territory: None, a free-floater

Crew: About 20 members

Specialities: Trafficking goods for the Sea Palace

If Syd has targeted your or your ship, there will be no negotiations, no chance at him leaving without what he came for

They all frequent the Frozen Sea, and the Strait of Sirens which connects the Sea of Persephia to the Salty Seas.

I think I’ve given Syd my “customer-service” mask — as in, that sugary sweet, fake, patient voice I use to talk to a client who just bitched at me on the phone for ten minutes but still have to be nice to

What’s under the mask is very different from me lol but the way the smile in his voice doesn’t quite reach his eyes when he’s talking to someone he thinks is just awfully, painfully stupid is me

Syd’s not the most musical of my OCs for sure, but he does like to lean back and play his harmonica every once in a while (or when he should be doing something else—Hideko hates that fucking thing because hearing it means he’s avoiding something she now has to take care of)

Saoirse was created out of my own desire to be Unknowable — some days I wake up wanting to be Imperceptible and unfortunately I have to be perceived but they do not, they just are, and they don’t have to explain that

There’s a certain kind of self-centeredness that I gave Sydney — the idea of doing what is right for me first without care of repercussion isn’t one that I get to explore, ever, because society doesn’t allow it lol, but he can (of course he is the Extreme example but the core has to come from somewhere)

One of the things I’ve given Alec is my own anger, specifically the kind that appears not to protect my own reputation but that of my friends — like when a friend gets stood up or cheated on, or when someone was being rude to them, and I feel rage in a way that I wouldn’t feel if it happened to me
