A little thought:
I created my OC Bren and his silly alien mate Snake several years before I knew anything (basically) about Venom, but looking back now, I think it's no wonder that I'm charmed by the story of a scruffy loser who hesitantly partners with a weird lonely genderless alien that kind of creeps him out and obsesses over him, and despite all the scruffy loser's discomfort they become inseparable.
I mean, looking back, it's pretty obvious that this would appeal to me. =]
After writing this post about the OCs let loose thrifting, I had in idea starting to float in my head...then I found a perfect “draw the ship” meme and finally my idea was able to get out of my head.
Enjoy this lil meme of Venom in trashy neon clothes and the fluffy jacket found by Mack...and poor Mack silently regretting having let Venom make him wear that frog onesie for children.
Zu this is kind of a weird one, but if you had to give one Pokemon to each OC what would you give them and why? Idk why but I've had Pokemon in Borderlands on the brain. Please feed my strange brainchild 🙏
I saw this ask this morning while going to work and I’ll be lying if I said that I didn’t think about it during the few quiet moments LOL (maybe it’s because my nickname is Zubat? XD)
Little side note: I’m not “updated” on the new pokémon as I don’t have a switch so I never played Sword and Shield.
So, let’s start with the
OC - Pokémon associations!
Cream Bun - Slurpuff
I chose this pokémon because of Bun’s love for making (and eating) sweets, because they is a sweet person, and also because I feel that the Fairy type would fit perfectly with them.
Also, reading on Slurpuff’s page on Bulpapedia that “Slurpuff has an exceptionally keen sense of smell that is 100 million times stronger than that of a human. This allows it to distinguish even the faintest of smells and assist pastry chefs in the cooking. Slurpuff can tell a person's mental and physical condition by taking in their scent. Its fur contains a lot of air, making it light and soft to the touch” totally makes it the perfect pokémon for Bun!
Venom - Salazzle
I didn’t even had to think about this.
Salazzle is the perfect pokémon for Venom.
They are both slender poisonous gals with a ton of purple on them!
Also, now that I think about it, Venom has strong “Plumeria vibes”, and what’s Plumeria’s main pokémon? Salazzle.
Mack - Electrode or Klingklang
This was a bit more difficult to choose.
I feel that Klingklang or its pre-evos could fit well with the mechanic part of Mack
But Electrode could fit better because of...EXPLOSIONS!
Mack loves the thrill given by explosions and their shockwave, so I guess that a pokémon that could blow up stuff is a perfect match for our Tink!
From Bulbapedia: “Electrode explodes in response to even the smallest stimulation, simply to entertain itself, or because it has taken in too much electricity. But unlike Voltorb, Electrode can control its explosive ability at will. When full of stored electricity, it has been known to drift with the wind.”
“Simply to entertain itself”. Now, tell me if this isn’t the perfect pokémon for an energy/adrenaline junkie like Mack!
JT - Golurk or Metagross
Another difficult one.
I thought of Golurk because “Golurk is a bipedal automaton Pokémon resembling a suit of armor. It said to have been invented by ancient people to serve as a laborer." [...] “Golurk will faithfully follow its Master's orders without question. Golurk also served as sentries on Artillery platforms built into the walls of ancient castles.”
“Bipedal automaton”, “to serve as a laborer”, “follow’s master’s orders without questions” and “served as sentries”. Definetely makes me think of Hyperion Loaders.
Its being Ghost type makes me think of it as the “ghost from the past” of JT as an Hyperion engineer working with Loaders.
Metagross is another robotic pokémon, so another link to his past job.
Metagross is described as highly intelligent and wise pokémon, but that it may be also aggressive and territorial and that is a ferocious (almost cruel) predator.
Tell me if this isn’t JT, being wise and smart but that could easily flip out and beat you up.
Venom, is there something that you find difficult to face about your past? Any skeletons in your closet you can share with us?
Venom: Mh? Something difficult to face? From my past? [plays with one of her bracelets] Well...it’s not like I had an awesome past, yanno? The average life of bandits living on raiding other bandits and such... but it was less eazy cuz our camp was near Lynchwood and their sheriff was a total bitch! I’m glad that someone killed her! [laughs loudly] Skeletons in my closet? Well, we killed people so a bunch I guess? [shrugs] Or mayhaps that one of my folks ‘s a sane ‘sycho?
What are their feelings on the God Queen? Do they fear her? Respect her? Want to befriend her maybe? What about the God King?

Likes her charisma and personality, she’d love to be someone like her
Respects and fears the God Queen
But still she’d like to befriend her in a more “normal” way
She’d like being her friend and talk about whatever things like tv shows and the likes...not only rever the God Queen, but also being able to be Tyreen’s friend.
But knows her place as a mere follower so she’s okay with it
But she still could dream about being her friend
Troy is cool AF too and digs his style
She may or may not confess that she’d like to bang him ( ”He could crush my bones and I’d thank him” ) but this would make Mack really m a d.
So she just respects and reveres him as the God King.
Mack
Respects and revers the God Queen
Somewhat fears her, but because of her siren powers: he doesn’t want to become one of those creepy statues decorating the Cathedral and other places.
Doesn’t have a particular opinion on Tyreen, but he’s not really fond of her aura of superiority
She treats everyone as lowly trash
Meanwhile Troy is cooler and nicer.
He treats nicely the Tinks like him that work in his mechanical staff.
God King Troy acknowleges his skills and talent in his work with machinery, vehicles and mechanic stuff in genereal.
He also complimented his work
God King Troy remembers his name and the name of many other ones working for him.
So, yeah, he prefers Troy over Tyreen

Doesn’t like them
Doesn’t like COV
Doesn’t like being not able to say no to their “friends” that convinced them to join the COV and follow the Twin Gods
Fears the Twin Gods because they knows that the Gods can kill them at any given moment
Respects them only because they fear for their life
Revers them only because it’s a thing expected from the Twin God’s followers
But still doesn’t like them

(if he’ll end up in COV, so these are generic HC and may change if the plot of my fanfic will take a different route)
Still doesn’t understand how those brats he found many years ago, barely able to survive on Pandora, were able to do...all of this.
Doesn’t fear them.
What they could do to him? Kill him? Lock him up and let him rot and getting devoured by his broken mind? JT isn’t scared of dying and his life is already a way of rotting and suffering because of his visions and flashbacks.
Tyreen is really a snotty brat. Time only worsened her, in JT opinion
The whole God thing is bullshit, but whatever.
He knows how they were and he thinks that they still are like that, under the layers of their God Personas
Doesn’t really like that Tyreen treats her brother like something lower than her
But maybe it’s because of her superiority she built for herself?
Troy...worries him in an almost fatherly way.
Or maybe it’s because JT knows how it feels like having their own body broken and the need to show that you aren’t that frail.
But won’t say his concerns out loud, maybe only in some rare particular occasions, if he’s in their private quarters and he’s alone with Troy
Anyway, publicly he’ll suck it up and treat them how one of their highest-ranking followers is expected to do.
Even if he won’t hide sighs and eyerolls.

I also wanted to link a nice drabble I read on here that gave me some inspo, but for the love of what’s unholy, I guess it got eaten by Tumblr because I really can’t find it anymore and I have too many things in the “liked” page to find it. But I as soon as I find it I’ll link & tag everyone LOL (I remember that there were @godkingsanointed’s oc Jak Knife in it but tumblr likes removing my follows and likes from their blog, urgh)

and how my OCs will be celebrating it
Venom
Of course, the birthday of the Twin Gods mean a great and spectacular LiveScream with both of them assisting a gladiator-style show involving their strongest followers and their Saints, against low-tier followers and randos found while trying to convert settlements on Pandora and on other planets.
Venom helps with the setting up the area that will become the arena for the Holy Birthday
Banners, murals, whatever decoration is needed she’s helping with it
Even if Venom working on them too will mean having lots of neon colors and glowing paint mixed with the “standard-looking” COV art
If she has the opportunity, she joins the groups that will go “hunt” the poor souls the ones that will have the great opportunity to show their worth in front of the Twin Gods’ eyes.
Then she’ll be joining the stands around the arena squeezed with a ton of other COVs, cheering on the Gods and their favourite warriors.
Mack
As usual, he’ll help with setting up any mechanical thing necessary in the arena
Maybe also fixing and modding some COV’s vehicles for the ones gathering the followers for the LiveScream
But he will be more a “background presence”, mostly there to fix things and building other stuff, like many others.
Anyway, as many Tinks in the mechanical field, Mack’s preference leans towards Troy because he acknowledges his - and the other Tinks’ - skills with machinery, mechanics and the likes.
So most probably he will make something extra for Troy that will leave into the workshop... maybe some custom piece to add to his arm, or some tools that he could use easily one-handed or with the giant robo-arm. Or also some little trinkets that feels like Troy would appreciate.
Cream Bun
Twin Gods’ Birthday? This means that will be a giant feast after the LiveScream!
So they will be working their butt off in the kitchens with the other cooks
And of course they’ll be making mostly the desserts/sweets part of the menu
What could be a better opportunity to show off their excellent cooking skills if not in a day like that?
But the good cooking will be the only way Bun will contribute and participate to the Birthday event.
They still aren’t fond of the COV and still regret joining them after being tricked (again) by their supposed-friends.
JT (if he’ll end up joining COV, I’m still not entirely sure and I still haven’t defined his thoughts and feelings about COV and the Twin Gods at the moment. But more or less this could work, I guess LOL)
Really? Another live stream with a massacre? This one is even bigger because it’s the Gods’ birthday? Oh boy.
Rolls eyes but whatever, he’s certainly not in a position to critique anything
So he’ll just have to deal with whatever task the Gods will give him and get over it
It’s one of the days that he asks himself how those two idiots roaming aimlessly and without the basics for dealing with any form of pandoran life were able to pull up something like this. Gods. Seriously?
He doesn’t really likes the “formal” garnments he have to put on for the Birthday LiveScream or other events held by the Twin Gods. (I was thinking of the Saints clothing I saw in @border-spam‘s Leech Lord AU art, but even simply having to dress more like a COV than like a common person works too). But, again, he is not in a position to complain. Only eyerolls, sighs and hoping to get over it as soon as possible.
JT is always the embodiement of the mood “Tired™”, even on the Holy Birthday
Also who will be one of the few allowed to touch the Gods for dragging the Twins’ butts assisting them and walk them back in their rooms when they’ll be wasted like no tomorrow after the big partying? Him.
He’ll never admit it, not even if threatened, but after dropping each one in their quarter he will say “Happy birthday kiddo” to both before leaving the rooms.
Why being productive when you could make some shitty memes about your OCs? LOL
