So, I've had this in my inbox for literally years from way back when this sort of thing was going around all the time, and I cannot remember whether I answered it at the time or not. Either way, so much has happened recently that my perspective and priorities have changed hugely so I wanted to revisit this.
I'm not going to send this out to specific folks, but feel free to reply with something, anything, that makes you happy!
1. Realising that you don't have to grow out of your interests. I'm still the nerd I was as a kid, probably even more so actually, but now I have a job I work hard at and can afford to indulge those interests - and that's fucking awesome
2. Creating - whether that's writing or drawing for me, I enjoy both immensely and it brings me untold joy to be able to produce something just for the fun of it.
3. Watching people achieve their potential/goals, whether I had a hand in it or not, whether or not it's a goal I would choose for myself. If you're happy and proud of yourself, I'm happy (providing your happiness doesn't revolve hurting someone else (unless they've consented to that, I suppose??))
4. My brother's cooking. First of all, it's genuinely amazing, he's starting a catering qual soon and I have every faith in him to kick ass. But, he enjoys cooking so much that it's impossible not to get caught up in that too.

Nothing gets on my last nerve like people who complain about the "u.s. centricity" on this website but always manage to bring up the u.s. when something happens in thier country like??????
