i really feel like i should be at the protest against the big pipeline project today, because i work in the environmental education sector now and i’m a settler on this land and like, honestly it’s the least i can do. but i am also so fucking exhausted and i have a ton of work to do and argh. i kind of just want to stay in bed and work a little and clean my apartment and go on a long walk, and not spend 4 hrs potentially in the rain.
I would just like one movie about a single woman who decides to have a baby on her own just because she wants a child, so she either adopts or does the whole IVF thing and her friends are all supportive and great. She has a huge party to celebrate once the adoption papers go through or she finds out she’s pregnant, and she buys herself a weddings dress for this get-together that celebrates such a momentous occasion and there’s cake and people bring gifts and it’s just all around a really great celebration of love.
And this single woman never gets married, she never has a significant other, she is just totally fulfilled with her friends and family and kid.
Height: 5’7”
Security clearance: Silver
Family: Dr. Alexander Isaacs (pseudo father), Albert Wesker (twin brother), Leon Kennedy (nephew [clone])
Status: living
Bio: Although stolen at birth alongside her twin brother, taken from the hospital when her parents had been found by the ambitious Umbrella corporation to be genetically ideal candidates for the Wesker project, Alex’s life differs vastly from Albert’s. Interested in the psychology of twins, Alex is never given a number (colloquially and secretly referred to as Zero) and raised as Isaacs’s daughter. In a burst of hubris, Alexander Isaacs names his precious daughter after himself. She never knows her mother and simply assumes she is adopted, which isn’t a total lie, and just enough of a truth to keep her from searching.
At thirteen, Alexandretta begins displaying symptoms of primary-progressive multiple sclerosis. The diagnosis shakes her father, who had been under the impression that she was genetically superior, perfect in every way. He is of course concerned with subject 13, who is, by this time, the only Wesker child left. A battery of tests and infections have been administered to him and he shows nothing of the same symptoms.
Undaunted by her condition, Alexandretta pushes forward. At fourteen, she becomes part of Umbrella’s infectious virology team, albeit peripherally, as something of an intern. With her father’s blessing, she delves deep into the science of it. It is she, along with Dr. Ashford (a man of 25 and a prodigy himself) who begin to develop the first vestiges of what will one day become the T-Virus. Ashford is recently married and has plans for a family and a future. The year is 1983 and it is the first time she ever comes into contact with the boy she does not yet know is her brother, Albert.
She is made aware of the Wesker project and given all the documentation (with a few omissions). Isaacs is certain that his conditioning and hold over her is solid enough that she will never know he is her twin, but all of this is, in the end, part of his experimentation. She and Albert become very good friends. In fact, he is her only friend in the world. As Umbrella’s ambitions have grown, Isaacs begins to distance himself from Alexandretta, needing a brilliant researcher, perhaps one driven by her own degeneration—not a daughter.
She struggles with her disease, how she is perceived by her underlings, and the fight to find the one person who’s ever understood her: Albert, subject 0013.
Appearance: Slender and waif-like in form, her degenerative disease has taken much of her strength. Long blonde hair she keeps styled and laying on one shoulder, she tends to appreciate pearls and other expensive jewelry. Always wears white.
Personality: Ambitious and vicious, just like her “father”, Alex will stop at nothing to find the cure for her disease. Evolution is foremost in her mind and if she, a genetically engineered, so-called “perfect” being, cannot find it, then she is determined no one can. She is cold, ruthless, aloof, and cunning, showing little to no remorse for any kind of experimentation or violence caused thereby. She has a soft spot for “Thirteen” as her father calls him—though to her, he is always Albert.
