a thing i've thought of for biological parents taakitz - what if the reaper squad are on a mission all together when taako goes into labor, and so their stones of farspeech are off and he can't reach any of them. he tries calling some other people but nobody answers until finally the only person he has left to call is lucretia, and she DOES answer, so he has to swallow his pride and ask her to take him to the hospital.

and like Taako ends up holding her hand the whole time and he’s like “JUST SO YOU KNOW THIS DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING” 

Lucretia is actually super helpful though, Taako’s secretly glad to have her there

When the babies come Taako asks Lucretia if she wants to hold them and she just starts crying

Reaper squad arrives late and panicked and finds Lucretia and Taako chatting each one holding a baby. Lucretia got Taako some water and she did his hair because he didn’t wanna look gross when Kravitz got there and started taking pictures

i imagine that maybe reapers need to have a living body first that has to physically die for them to become reapers, since they’re pretty much undead? basically “we need to grow lup s body so we can Immediately Kill Her.” or possibly the form you become a reaper in is the form you’re stuck with, and she wanted to not be all lichy for all eternity?

holy shit the concept of growing lup a body just to kill it is a fuckin trip. here, let’s spend months waiting for this body to grow just so we can ritually sacrifice you with your beloved once it’s ready, like whaaaaaat

i like the imagery, and i would totes read that fic, but that’s also like, majorly fucked up? like hey lup you’ve been incorporeal for over a decade now, let’s let you have a body for a few days before we take it away again

not to rag on your idea, because it definitely definitely could make sense, i just, my mind rebels, like i just cant imagine how unfair that would feel? 

the thing with liches is, it’s evil and forbidden because normally you have to literally sacrifice people to become one, but lup and barry didn’t have to do that because the empty world’s inhabitants had fucked with the plane of magic, so they have that loophole. which is why they get to be forgiven at all, but gosh. i know they sorta knew what they were getting into when they undertook this thing, this transformation, but they also did it for the good of literally all of existence and i just want them to be able to-- live out their days with the rest of their family? actually being allowed to enjoy the peace they fought so long for?
